Cloud Light

Cloud light, cloud bright.
First cloud I see tonight.
I wish I may, I wish I might
Understand this iridescent sight!

A NASA satellite has captured this photo (below 1) of the first occurrence this summer of mysterious shiny polar clouds that form 50 miles above EarthÕs surface.

This (below 2) image shows one of the first ground sightings of noctilucent clouds in the 2007 season. (Credit: Veres Viktor of Budapest, Hungary; taken on June 15, 2007.)

Here (below 3) is another viewpoint - 36,000 feet above Alaska. (Credit: John Boardman; taken June 20, 2006.)
