Pit Bull Terrier vs. Porcupine
Wohba and ouch!
Waiting for Snopes to varify this, but enjoy this photo and this photo until then.
Top Men are not sure who won the fight.
UPDATE: Snopes says this one is true. The dog (Inca) had thousands of quills removed from a May 23rd encounter with a porcupine. Her tongue was so covered she couldn't close her mouth. She survived and is on antibiotics and pain medication. No word on the fate of the porcupine.
(Thanks to Gail for the breed correction.)

The dog is not a "PIT BULL" rather the dog is a "Bull Terrier" people need to get the dog breeds straight before they start rumors.
My friend who is a vet technician has seen this picture as well. She estimated that it would take about 6 to 8 hours to get all those quills out. Each one has to be removed at the base so that the barb is removed as well. Her exact quote? "I pity the poor technician who likely did the removal job".
Another interesting thing that I learned from her was this. If your dog is sprayed by a skunk, tomato juice does nothing. Zilch, useless. What does work? 1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), 1 tsp. liquid soap. Double this recipe for a large dog. Wet the pet down, and work the mixture throughly into the dog, avoiding the eye area. Around the face, use a sponge. From this site: http://lowchensaustralia.com/grooming/skunk.htm
Ahhh, the joys of pet/dog ownership huh? LOL, I'd still have my Beagle Tonka, despite all these trials.
